Back in the 90's when I was just starting out (before the crew) I called my music "LOW BUDGET PRODUCTIONS". From my standpoint it didn't mean my standards were cheap. That was never the point. At the time I didn't have the best equipment...gemini belt drive turntable/cheap mic from best buy/recording to a tape deck(if you mess up start over)... Things like that. That's were the "LOWBUDGET" came from. "making the best out of what you have". I thought that was the definition of hiphop culture and black people period. When I was working at JCPenney warehouse in capital heights I would let my man listen to some of my recordings... He heard me say "lowbudget productions" on the intro of one of my songs and was like "you should stick with that name." simple as that.
